THE CLIENTELE

The Clientele were formed in London in the summer of 1997 from a love of Surrealism, Galaxie 500, Paul Auster, Kafka, the Beatles, Cardinal, Felt, the Left Banke, Joseph Cornell, The Beach Boys and Arthur Lee's Love.
They have made a super 8 film and released two 7" singles in the UK. The singles have been played on XFM and John Peel and other stations in Canada, France, Spain, Italy and Japan. They have been written about in the NME, Melody Maker, Record Collector and several Japanese, Spanish and French magazines. They have supported Arab Strap, Velocette and Billy Mahonie.

Lace wings / Saturday is their third single and is released on Motorwa Records in Japan this Summer. To celebrate the release of this single they will be playing the following show:

Thursday 4th November - 12 Bar - Denmark Street

The Clientele go into the studio in October to record their debut album. Another single is due on Elefant Records in Spain in the Autumn followed by a single on Pointy in the UK.
